Life of more than 200 poor rural families transmogrified alone in Nagseni of Kishtwar; work on 712 houses started

Poor rural villagers whose vocation is farming and they are working hard to run day to day needs to manage three times meal for their familes, their standard of living is so simple  and still some villagers are living like primitive and having shacks/huts in this modern era. 

The villagers are running short with money but their dreams are very big and a ray of hope is always in their minds to build a dream home but money/finance is the acute hurdle besides  resources, debts etc. to accomplish their dreams.

District Kishtwar also  known as "land of Sapphire" is also pacing the mode of development with UT of Jammu and Kashmir in recent time as Central and UT J&K goverment has kick started many welfare schemes for poor rural masses and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) is one of the scheme which is a immense ray of hope for the rural masses.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme is currently functioning as a flagship scheme of the Central Government and the UT of Jammu and Kashmir Government under the  Department of Rural Development and Panchayti Raj and it provides housing benefits to eligible beneficiaries on the basis of 2011 survey. Under this scheme a poor and needy beneficiary is given accommodation under this scheme. Besides there is no restriction on the people based on their caste, gender or any other criteria. Females are also encouraged a lot and families with no male member can also utilize the advantages of the scheme without any doubt. Families being led by females are at a more advantageous side.

The objective of
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) home loan subsidy is to provide pucca houses by 2022 to all those who are deprived and living in rural areas. The construction of multi-storeyed houses and up-gradation of Kucha houses is a part of the process.

  PMAY-G has focused on deprived household and the poorest of the poor who live in kaccha houses. The success of rural housing programme not only provides a home to the poor but also generate employment for them up to 90/95 days work under MGNREGA. The solid and liquid wastes from the households are managed under PMAY-G, NRDWP will provide drinking water to houses under PMAY-G scheme and the funds are transferred to the beneficiaries electronically besides the beneficiaries of PMAY-G scheme are provided with good quality cooking fuel.

The writer visited some days back to Panchayat Kwar, Block Nagseni of District Kishtwar and get a chance to talk one of the beneficaries of  PMAY(G) scheme namely Mrs. Mirza Begum resident of Kwar belongs to Schedule Tribe category and a widow lived in a broken hut which was in a state of collapse at any moment. Since there is no other earner in the family, Mrs. Mirza Begum has been working on a daily basis after the death of his beloved husband to support herself and her family.

Her name is included in the SECC-2011 list of this scheme. Under this flagship scheme of the government, she has been allotted a beautiful accommodation  to replace her old shack in her own land.

The Allotment of accommodation has removed her living difficulties and under which she were given a total of 1,30000 in three installments and in addition Rs. 12,000 / - for toilet also. 
 
While talking with Mirza Begum she thanked govt and especially the young and hardworking BDO Nagseni Abhay Indu Sharma and said, "All my troubles have been removed due to the accommodation allotted by the government and I am in very happy state of mind because to build a dream home is a distant dream for me. The new house has brought a sense of security  to us. It has increased our recognition in the society as well."

"My daughter's marriage was about to be decided. The boys now decided to get married immediately after seeing this beautiful accommodation and she is getting married soon." she added.

In her words, "Khoda dinvoy Kamyabi te doykhar" -"Thank you very much for helping me and blessing me with this assistance."

It is pertinent to mention here that, under PMAY (G) scheme alone in Block Nagseni of District Kishtwar 
a total of 750  houses have been stationed in three phases under which construction work of 712 houses is started on and Ist installment has been given to 712 beneficaries and more than 200 houses has been completed and in a final stage to enhance the standard of living of rural poor with the contineous efforts, hardwork and positive attitude of BDO Nagseni Abhay Indu Sharma who along with his team including VLW Kawar Taseen Ahmed Waza,  
VLW Sunil Parihar, GRS Mushtaq, GRS Umar Suffian and Aadil NYC Waseem Akram and other concerned always remain forefront to build a dream home for the villagers besides he is working hard day and night so that the benefit of the schemes may percolate among each and every deserving beneficaries.

With the building of more than 200 houses (dream home) and rest in line for completion the whole face of Nagseni Block transmogrified and the poor villagers are very much happy as it is everyone’s dream today to own a house of their own.
