Expert Committee meeting organized by J&K Biodiversity Council

Jammu & Kashmir Biodiversity Council organized a meeting with the Committee of Experts today on 23rd of January, 2021 under the Chairmanship of Dr. Mohit Gera, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, (HoFF), J&K/ Chairman, Jammu & Kashmir Biodiversity Council. Speaking on the occasion, the PCCF emphasized the need for quality improvement of PBRs (Peoples Biodiversity Registers) in a time bound manner. He thanked and appreciated the efforts of all the experts for their inputs towards scrutiny and editing of PBRs. It was also decided that the professionally formatted PBR files would be shared with the experts for further inputs on quality improvement. There was also a detailed discussion regarding the constitution of Quality Evaluation and Monitoring Committee at the UT level as advised by the National Biodiversity Authority. Dr. C.M Seth, IFS (Retd.) & Sh. O.P Sharma, IFS (Retd.) appreciated the efforts of J&K Biodiversity Council in achieving the goal of preparation of PBRs for all Village Panchayats and Municipal Committee/ Corporations. 

The other experts who attended the meeting include Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Dr. Khursheed Ahmad, Dr. Yash Paul Sharma, Dr. Sumeet Gairola, Dr. Vineeta Sharma, Dr. Anzar Khuroo. From Biodiversity Council, Sh. Parvaiz Shagoo, Sh. Rakesh Verma and Sh. Ashutosh Sharma attended the meeting.
