Global Peace Foundation turns saviour for poor and needy across Jammu

Jammu 05 Jun:…….. The philanthropic organisation Global Peace Foundation has yet again came to the rescue of poor peoples across Jammu who were left in the lurch due to the sudden lockdown of covid-19. The foundation like the previous year hit the ground with its volunteers to give succour to the needy people in these testing times.

Soon after the lockdown was announced the foundation under its food for all programme is serving meals to the slum dwellers, providing ration to the migrant workers, labourers and needy people in Jammu and Kashmir. It has so far covered more than 7000 families and 2800 souls providing ration, fresh water, hygiene kits and cooked food.

The volunteers are serving meals to the covid-19 positive families at their home and also to those people who have none to take care of themselves. These patients are also provided medicines and PPE kits for their safety and also prevent the spread of infection.

The foundation is also supplying oxygen concentrators to needy families who are under home isolation. Apart from meals and oxygen concentrator supplies, the foundation through its volunteers has pressed in their vehicles to shift the patients to hospitals and back home under proper SOPs of covid-19.

The foundation will keep on giving its services although with its limited voluntary resources till the pandemic subsides, said one of the volunteers.
