The Jammu and Kashmir unemployment bulge is witnessing a major swell of discontent among the youths, which is a serious issue as the official joblessness rate of Jammu and Kashmir hits 22.2% which is very high than the national average of unemployment across the Nation. To reduce the unemployment rate, creating jobs is one of the best solutions. But the problem is that jobs are created, posts are advertised, exams are conducted, results are declared, selection lists are finalized but unfortunately after crossing every stair, there is unnecessary delay in appointment orders for the candidates who are declared and finalized for final lists and joining of legitimate departments.
Becoming the victim of such recruitment process, One such case is of 120 compilers who are selected by a proper procedure and now are suffering for their joining’s. Narrating the self-story, The author along with thousands of other candidates applied for a post of the compiler, Vide Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2015 dated 01-09-2015, whereas the Finance Department Vide Indent No. FD/COORD/149/2007-ll dated 07-08-2015 requisitioned 129 District Cadre posts of compliers to the recruiting body Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board and the examination was conducted in a phased manner from April-2017 to September-2017. The interview for the same post was conducted in Dec 2017 and the result of the same was declared on 27/11/2021 by Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board subsequently, the name of qualified aspirants along with the recommendation was forwarded to the finance department.
One would imagine from the story of the victim that a gap of 07 years in this recruitment process is not less than a joke but the straight way to heads toward suicide and it’s now better to suicide later to apply for any post in any department in Jammu and Kashmir wherein such aspirants are now in the overage group and are highly qualified with prestigious degrees.
“In Jammu and Kashmir, When posts are advertised lakhs of applicants start preparation for exams out of which 120 aspirants are declared qualified. Unfortunately, the recruitment process is just like “MONGARI LAAL KE SAPNE” in our Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir”.
There seems to be a big loophole in the governing system of our Union Territory which results in stress and depression among the selected as well as all other aspirants who are the last hope of their old parents. The selected distressed aspirants from time to time approached the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for the same issue. From Twitter handle, Grievance Cell up to Media aspirants did all but still all in vain and nothing has been done till to date.
On the one hand, after the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir, our Centre ruled Union Territory Government makes big promises to reduce the unemployment rate in Jammu and Kashmir, and on the other hand why recruited and selected candidates are suffering for their appointment orders.
It’s so unknown to every citizen, that after every recruitment aspirants are holding demonstrations on the roads, outside the office of competent authorities for joining. Not only, are the case of 120 compilers but there are also 71 Junior Scale Stenographers, Panchayat Account Assistants. Is this only because the Union Territory recruitment agency advertised the posts, on that Advertisement, lakhs of Unemployed, Educated youths invest their time, energy, education, and money to achieve such posts.
It’s now time that the voice of such victims reaches the ears of Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, and necessary directions will be passed to half with the responsibility of recruitment agencies and boards to issue the appointment orders in favour of the selected aspirants whose future are at stake.
