Students hold protest demonstrations, demanding early posting of all sanctioned vacant posts of Lecturers

 

BUNJWAH 18 Apr :________ The students of Government Higher Secondary School Binoon, today hold a protest demonstration regarding the fulfilling of all sanctioned vacant posts wherein all the posts of teaching staff including Lecturers are lying vacant since 2002. It may sound strange but it’s true that GHSS Binoon is one of the oldest institutions in Chenab valley that sans staff, and lecturers since 2002. Despite the tall claim made by the Government to provide basic educational facilities at the doorstep vows only in official orders and meetings as reality differs from its fiction.

The oldest educational institutions in Chenab valley in the Bunjwah region of Kishtwar district is running under violation of teaching staff, lecturers, as concerned authorities failed to appoint lecturers for Higher classes of Government Higher Secondary School Binoon Bunjwah, informed that as the academic session had started from March but till the day we don't get lecturers as concerned higher authorities didn't pay any heed toward our future. One of the students of class 11th said that we already had suffered for the last two years due to Covid-19 and Online Classes due to the slow speed of the Internet in Bunjwah. Adding that we have not yet read a single question of various subjects as no appointment of lecturers was made by Director School Education Jammu and Chief Education Officer Kishtwar and our future is at stake.

A girl student Adiba Tabassum said that “Is it justice with us wherein PM Narendra Modi slogans of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao that, why DSE Jammu and CEO Kishtwar are playing with our future”, Adding that today we hold protest demonstrations regarding the shortage of teaching staff including Lecturers unfortunately till day no one was appointed and our future is spoiling ".

Taking a note of students, the correspondent approaches the I/C Principal of GHSS Binoon Mr. Shabir Butt, and asked him about the detail of lecturers, He informed that " 11 posts of lecturers are sanctioned among which 02 are appointed on a permanent basis and rest all posts of lecturers are lying vacant that includes English, Physics, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Maths, Political Science, Education, and Economics ".

Source informed that in other higher Secondary schools lecturer’s posts are raised and sanctioned up to 16, but it is only one Higher Secondary of Chenab Valley having the status of the oldest institution is neglected and being run under violation of teaching staff, lecturers.

It is important to mention that more than 400 students have sought admission from 9th to 12th among which 190 students are in 11th and 12th classes.

Students demanded the personal intervention of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and Director of School Education Jammu to personally intervene in this matter and fill all vacant posts of lecturers on a permanent basis at the earliest otherwise we students shall observe a demonstration against the failure of concerned higher authorities if demands are not fulfilled.
