Bunjwah, April 22

Parents and students of Government Higher Secondary School Patnazi Bunjwah today protested against shortage of teaching staff in the school where maximum posts of Lecturers, Masters and non-teaching staff are lying vacant.
This Higher Secondary School is allegedly being run by only one Lecturer while 15 posts of Lecturer and Master are lying vacant for a long time. There are around 200 students in this school and maximum of them belong to BPL category.
Up in arms against the non-serious attitude of the School Education Department in this regard, students and parents of Patnazi held a protest demonstration and raised slogans demanding adequate teaching staff in the school. The demonstrators also took out protest rally from the said school to Niabat office Patnazi where they registered their protest.

One among the protesting student namely Mohd Ayaz said that we are facing manifold problems to get our queries solved pertaining to our subjects and due to the shortage of teaching staff our precious time is being wasted.

The protesting villagers alleged that adequate teaching staff was never provided ever since the school was upgraded as Higher Secondary School.
“Due to the shortage of teaching staff, the students are facing manifold problems to get their queries solved pertaining to their subjects,” they said and informed that there are total 11 posts of Lecturer in this HSS but 10 of them are lying vacant since long.
According to the villagers, the matter was repeatedly brought into the notice of School Education authorities but no step was taken to depute the Lecturers and adequate teaching staff there.

“On one side the Government is claiming that it will provide proper education to children especially of rural area but on the grounds, their claim has been proved false and fake”, said one of the parents while talking to media persons.
The protestors appealed to Hon'ble LG, Director School Education Jammu, DC Kishtwar and CEO Kishtwar to provide required staff in the institution, so that their students don’t get affected.
