With an aim to redress the grievances of Project Affected Families (PAF) of Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Power Project and to discuss the project related issues,today Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav (IAS) visited Arzi Village and listened the grievances of villagers besides discussed issues related to recent cracks developed at HRT portal site of Pakal Dul HE Project with concerned project authorities.
He was accompanied by Tehsildar Kishtwar Pramod Kumar, NT, Anwar Chaudhary, HOP, Pakal Dul Project Ramesh Mukhiya HOP besides GMs and representatives.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the site and thereafter chaired meeting with villagers and project authorities.
The representatives of PAFs of Arzi Village raised the issue of safety of villagers which has been created due to cracks developed at HRT portal site of Pakal Dul HE Project which can result the slope sliding to Arzi village downside the portal site.
They demanded resettlement of entire Arzi Village at new suitable place on account of recent cracks developed on the HRT,TBM portal site of Pakal Dul Project.
Besides the representatives demanded for the provisions of the makeshift schooling facilities for the children of displaced families.
Redressing the grievances of people on spot, the Deputy Commissioner instructed Tehsildar Kishtwar to co-ordinate with CEO Kishtwar to chalk out the feasibilies for the makeshift School building for children in some other government school so that learning of the student is not hampered.
Further,the project authorities were directed to constitute a technical committee to study the mid-term and long-term stability of the slope in view of forthcoming works which are planned to be carried out in the vicinity of the arzi village for the safety and security of local inhabitants.
Issues of payment of land compensation was also raised by the villagers, on which the DC Kishtwar assured them that the same would be verified and disposed off accordingly.
The concerned authorities were also directed to expedite the identification of alternative land for resettlement within one month of time.
