District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Kishtwar today organised a one-day Job Fair cum Apprenticeship Mela in co-ordination with Govt ITI Kishtwar for the Job seekers and interested candidates & students here at ITI ground Kishtwar.

The aim of the fair was to register eligible job seekers for  various job vacancies from different Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) and companies working in Kishtwar.

The programme started with the welcome address from the host AD, Employment Kishtwar Amit Kumar and Principal ITI Kishtwar, followed by speech of Dr. Mohd Ashraf, GM DIC Kishtwar.

Representatives from Agriculture,Horticulture, Animal Husbandry Departments, DIC Kishtwar, KVIB, JP Associates Ltd. and L&T company spoke in detail about different self-employment schemes, job vacancies for job seekers & students.

A total of 39 vacancies were made available by JP Associates Ltd. and L&T companies working in Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Power Project. 

More than 300 applications were received for the same which will be scrutinized and the final selections shall be made in coming days. 

Principal ITI and Concerned faculty awared about the National Apprenticeship Programme Schemes (NAPS) and encouraged the ITI passouts, enrolled students and  the establishments present in the venue for onspot registration under the said scheme.  On-spot 50 number of candidates & 12 number of establishments were registered under NAPS.

The programme also facilitated on-spot registrations of around 200 job seekers & students for the J&K employment portal & NCS Portal.

In order to spread awareness regarding Self- Employment Schemes, different Govt. Departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, SC/ST/OBC Corp., Handicraft/Handloom,District Industries centres Kishtwar setup their stalls. 

Under Self-Employment schemes, a total number of 12 applications were received on-spot for availing loans under self employment schemes. 

Furthermore, in order to aware youth towards different ITI trades, various live-demo stalls  were installed in the fair.
